This 1979 Porsche 911SC coupe remained under the care of its previous and second owner for approximately 43 years in California before it was purchased by the current owner in April 2023. It underwent a refresh beginning that year that included refinishing various exterior panels, re-dying and repairing the leather seats, refreshing the wheels and brakes, cleaning the engine bay and underside, and performing valve and timing adjustments. The car is finished in Casablanca Beige Metallic over Cork leather and is powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, sport shocks, a sunroof, fog lights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows, cruise control, and a cassette stereo.
The car is finished in Casablanca Beige Metallic (X4) and features black-finished trim, a sunroof, fog lights, headlight washers, an electric antenna, dual side mirrors, and rear bumperettes. The hood, front valance, rocker panels, and right quarter panel have been refinished, and the headlight trim, fog light lenses, tail lights, exhaust outlet, and sunroof seal and cable were replaced under current ownership. The windshield seal has shrunk and allows wind noise to pass into the cabin. Paint blemishes are shown in detail in the gallery.
The 16″ Fuchs wheels feature black centers and were refreshed in September 2023, and they are mounted with Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires that were installed concurrently. The car is equipped with sport shock absorbers, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors. The brakes were refreshed, and the rear rotors and brake lines were replaced in October 2024.
The cabin underwent a refresh beginning in 2023, which included repairing, rebuilding, and re-dying the Cork leather seats and color-matching additional interior trim. The sun visors, speakers, and door seals were also replaced. Amenities include a center console, power windows, cruise control, and a cassette stereo.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline, a 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 98k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.0-liter flat-six was refreshed under current ownership; work included cleaning the engine bay, restoring the heat exchanger, performing valve and timing adjustments, and replacing the cam cover gaskets, spark plugs, and battery. An oil change was performed in October 2024.
